Hiring Part-Time Facilities & Maintenance Person

Candidate must possess a high level of integrity, problem solving skills, strong attention to detail, and a desire to produce quality work. Successful candidate must be a self-starter able to work with little or no supervision. Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle that can tow a town-owned trailer, be able to pass a background check, and have weekend availability.
DUTIES
The job duties include maintaining and improving the town’s facilities, grounds, and parks including lawn/snow care, weed control, trimming trees, painting, landscaping, overseeing maintenance, garbage and pest control, responding to damage, and dragging ball diamonds. This position is responsible for inspecting facilities, anticipating maintenance, performing preventative maintenance, coordinating with contractors, moving speed signs on town roads, and other tasks as needed. Work includes the use of power equipment, lawn chemical sprays, and heavy lifting. It includes being outdoors in all weather conditions. EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in maintenance, mechanical, or construction desired.
WORK LOCATIONS & HOURS
The Facilities & Maintenance position is part-time with a variable schedule expected to average under 20 hours a week. This position will work in-person at Gruetzmacher Park on Bean City Rd, New London; Caledonia Community Center & Readfield Park on Hwy 96 in Readfield; and at Pagel Pier on Rawhide Rd, New London.
